Open MRI vs. Conventional MRI

Because some patients may experience an enclosed feeling during the test in a Conventional High Field MRI, the Open MRI is a more comfortable alternative. Patients can even have a family member at their side to alleviate any feeling of anxiety and thereby reduce patient movement.

This new open design accommodates obese patients up to 400 pounds and provides a high level of patient accessibility previously unobtainable with conventional MRI systems. Thanks to the Open MRI, a patient will feel more at ease before and during the procedure. The need for sedation during an Open MRI is rare.
